Whew! I am just stacking up the finishes lately!
Today I am ready to share the last three Covered in Love finishes for Kat.
Whew! I am just stacking up the finishes lately!
Today I am ready to share the last three Covered in Love finishes for Kat.
I have been sewing, quilting and binding up a storm lately!
I don't have one Covered in Love finish to share...I have Three!
(The weather has been miserable today, so I had to take photos of the quilts draped on my longarm.)
All three are the Tall Nine block pattern. For this one, I sorted out the blocks that had coral colors in them.
I did a simple straight layout on the blocks and quilted it with a simple meander.
I didn't have any backing pieces that were big enough so I found a piece in my ...

It is looking like most of the rail fence blocks for my Compassion quilts have arrived. There haven't been any in the post for quite a few days. Soon I will assemble the last quilt top using the rest of the blocks. So What am I going to do in February?
There is still one last Covered in Love quilt to share. I finally finished sewing on the binding!
This last quilt is made with the autumn colored Tall Nine blocks. People sure have some lovely leaf fabrics in their stash!
Here is second shot. I know some people like to see if they can spot the blocks they donated.
Every evening for a few weeks has been spent working on hand sewing the bindings on quilts.
I just finished the 7th quilt for Covered in Love.
I have been working away on my big pile of quilts that need to be bound.
I just finished another Covered in Love Quilt!
I am still working on the "Oh my Stars" blocks. I needed to come up with another layout design that used less blocks so I could make an additional quilt from all the supplies Kat sent.
I usually just get a box of blocks and various yardage. Lots of time the bindings are even all sewn, pressed and rolled up.
I love this step of sorting the blocks and fabrics into quilts.
Can you believe it? - I have two finishes to share today!
I have been working hard to get all the Covered in Love blocks sewn into quilts. I have switched from the Tall Nine to the Patriotic Star blocks and already have a couple finishes.
I was sent enough blocks to make three quilts but I challenged myself to make four. Today I will start sharing the tricks I used to stretch the blocks further.
The Covered in Love Finishes keep on coming!
I am ready to share the third finish today. It is another Tall Nine in Autumn colors.
So many beautiful fall fabrics hidden away in people's stashes!
I laid these blocks out all going the same direction again. I really like this look.
When I sewed the blocks together, I didn't worry too much if the same fabrics touched in the small rectangles. But I did try and space out the colors in the bigger rectangles.
On the back is a lovely floral piece with a gold. Doesn't the ...

Everyone is doing such a great job on their blocks and Kat organized this project so weel, they are going together in no time at all.
Quilts go together so quickly when others make the blocks!
I already have the first Covered in Love quilt ready to share.
For this first one, I alternated the direction of the blocks. This is different than the way the blocks were designed. I always like to mix it up and see if I can see any alternate patterns emerge.
So many pretty fall-colored scraps in these.
The backs were even already pieced together for these tall nine quilts.
All I had to do was load it on my longarm and quilt it up.
I continued the autumn feel and ...
read moreDid you know that every quilt that is donated by Covered in Love gets a label?
As I work on assembling quilts from the blocks donated to Covered In Love, I also attach a label to the backing fabric. I thought I would share the process that I use that works great for printed labels.
I am assuming that Kat orders her labels from a digital fabric place like Spoonflower.
You can also find some Etsy stores that will customize some labels like these that I ordered years ago.
You can easily needle turn the labels to the back but ...
read moreA few posts back, I mentioned I would soon be receiving a big box containing a bunch of blocks from Kat to use to finish a bunch of Covered in Love quilts.
The box arrived...do you want to see what blocks I received?
I received enough of the Tall Nine blocks to make 4 quilts. Kat did such a fantastic job organizing everything on these, I was able to get sewing right away.
I almost have a quilt top completed already!
I also received enough of the Oh My Stars to make three quilts. I know these are a ...

I like that it makes me look back on the year and enjoy the quilts I finished.
This year was all about scrap quilts. An early quilt I made was this blue and brown courthouse steps quilt. I was initially thinking my sister might want it once she finishes building her new house. But one day my neighbor came over and wanted it for her newly refurbished livingroom. I couldn't argue - it looks ...

Remember this RSC quilt I finished last year? Well it has been kicking around the house just waiting for a new home. As I was sending off a box to Covered In Love for the Hands2Help quilt challenge, I decided to stuff this one in as well.
The blocks for this quilt were super simple and all of the fabric for the quilt top came out of the scrap bins. Turning my scraps into donation quilts just seems to make sense to me ...
read moreI've been on a roll finishing tops recently. Thanks to H2H for helping to bring in quilts while I take a break from block drives. This quilt top came from Barb C., she calls it Scrappy Blue Clamshell Tessellation and said the pattern came from Royal Quilt Designs.
This next quilt with the Kaffe fabrics also came from Barb but it couldn't be more different. Both of these have been gifted to parents who lost their adult son.
Barb called this one the Kaffe Fassett Garden Quilt. The 9 Patch & Hourglass pattern came from Missouri Quilt Co.
These ...

I am almost finished with all of the quilts I am working on for Kat over at Covered In Love.
I was quite productive this week and finished sewing on the binding for two more Covered In Love Quilts.
This is the second Red, White and Blue quilt I have shared. You can see the first one here. I believe these blocks were all made last summer. I think Kat mentioned that these were the last of the blocks from that block drive.
I have been continuing to work on completing the Covered In Love quilts that so many of you donated blocks for.
